The 31-year-old pro is followed by a fellow American but “the Germans” also made the list – not surprisingly.
The 2017 tournament season is over, there is no event left with much effect on the results. Long-time pro, Bryn Kenney amassed a whopping $8.5 million in earnings. It seems like Kenney stood the test of time since he was already one of the biggest winners last year, with $5.2 million in winnings. Bryn made the money 29 times this year. His biggest single win came in April when he took down PSC Monte-Carlo €100,000 Super High Roller Eight max for $1,946,911. He started the year pretty strong by winning both the PSC $50,000 NLHE event ($969,075) and the $25,500 NLHE Shot Clock event ($392,876). Bryn didn’t rest on his laurels as he continued to hit big scores throughout the entire year. He got 4th in Triton Super High Roller for a cool $500k in February, got 2nd two times in the $25,000 Aria High Roller Events ($211,000; $186,000) in March and 3rd in April ($110,880).
He managed to take down the event later in the month for $300k and earned his biggest cash for the year at the PSC Monte-Carlo SHR 8-max for $1.9 million as we mentioned before.
After a short break from crushing, he returned to his favourite hobby of winning money in August. He finished 2nd in a PSC Barcelona SHR event for $549,438, 7th in the PSC Barcelona €50,000 NLHE SHR for $232,765 and also got 2nd in the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Hollywood $10,000 NLHE event for $206,736.
Autumn also saw Bryn winning huge money. In September he took down Poker Masters Event #3: $50,000 NLHE for $960,000 and got 7th in Event #2 $50,000 NLHE for $125k. He was the 6th best man in the ACOP Macau HK$800,000 for $474,432 and also in the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic $100k for $234,000 in November. His last big score of the year came from Rozvadov, where he finished 17th in the WSOPE €111,111 High Roller for One Drop event for $183,716.
He’s followed closely by 2017 WSOP Main Event champion, Scott Blumstein. He famously took down the Main for $8,150,000 which accounts for almost all of his winnings this year ($8,174,347).
The list goes on with 3 German high roller phenomes. Christopher Vogelsang earned $8,090,382 thanks to his huge $6 million score in the $300,000 Aria Super High Roller bowl. Vogelsang is followed by Steffen Sontheimer, who amassed $7,052,322.
The fifth on the list is the “retired” youngster, Fedor Holz, who managed to win $6,380,187 in 2017 – which is really a relatively big step back if we consider his $16,484,153 earnings in 2016.
American tournament beast, Jake Schindler also made the list with his $6 million. Jake is followed closely by Spaniard Adrian Mateos ($5,881,228). Another German wunderkind, Stefan Schillhabel made 8th with his $5,488,470 earnings. John Juanda ($5,058,482) and Benjamin Pollak ($4,979,066) also made the top ten.
